With gothic spires, neoclassical facades and the peaceful Danube flowing between the city, Budapest’s romantic skyline can best be enjoyed while nestled high above the treetops with a lively tipple in hand. As summer months give way to warmth and sun (a welcomed respite from the winter), bask like lounging lizards and snag a tan while you’re at it at some of Budapest’s best rooftop bars.
TOPRUM Sky & Bar
We’d like to welcome a new addition to the rooftop bar scene here in Budapest, which is located on the top of boutique accommodation, Hotel Rum, in the 5th district. While you’ll be encapsulated by floor-to-ceiling windows that offer beautiful sunlit views of the city, if you want the ultimate view then it’s best to request a table near the window.
During the weekday you can enjoy lunch or dinner with a breathtaking view or on weekends, brunch amongst the rooftops with signature cocktails and tempting food options such as eggs benedict, shakshuka and chocolate cake with passion fruit.

Leo Rooftop Bar
Who says that all the incredible views of the city have to come from the Pest side? Well, Hotel Clark teaches us that this is simply not true. Right across the Chain Bridge on the Buda side lies the brand new Leo rooftop bar. The bar’s name pays homage to the regal lion statues that sit on the abutment of the iconic Chain Bridge. The bar itself is being lauded as offering some of the most unique panoramic views of the city.
The minute you step into Leo you’ll feel like you’re in a tropical oasis, where waiters clad in tiki shirts will offer up decorative drinks while under green frond-like umbrellas. Discover the tropics here in Budapest, but make sure to book a table in advance (especially at sunset).

Liebling – Hidden Rooftop Bar
It’s hard to imagine that any bar in the party-loving 7th district is hidden, but tucked away between popular mainstream clubs, Fogasház and Instant, is a romantic little rooftop oasis illuminated by strings of twinkle lights. All libation connoisseurs are welcome at Liebling, which boasts a wide variety of wines, local beers and cocktails to whet your whistle and get you grooving (they also offer some delicious eats so those drinks don’t go straight to your head).
If you are looking to rev back up after a little cocktail and rooftop R&R, head downstairs for a little dancing at Fogasház. Just don’t blame us if you don’t leave the dance floor until sun-up.

Gozsdu Sky Bar
Whether you’re enjoying some day drinking or just a nightcap, if you find yourself in the busy Gozsdu courtyard of the Jewish Quarter you’ll certainly know it by the fact that it’s teeming with wall-to-wall restaurants, bars, pubs and thirsty cocktail-seekers. If it’s a little fresh air you’re looking for amongst the hustle and bustle, then Gozsdu Sky Terrace will provide that respite…on the rocks.
While you won’t get the same sprawling views of the city like you will at rooftop spots like 360 Bar or High Note Skybar, you will be rewarded with views of the Citadella (nestled within Buda), as well as St. Stephen’s Basilica and the historic city center while lounging on comfortable outdoor sofas and enjoying a refreshing drink.

High Note Skybar
If you are looking for jaw-dropping views of the city in a more laid back and refined atmosphere then look no further than High Note Skybar at the elegant Aria Hotel. Enjoy sprawling city views while sunbathing and indulging in carefully crafted cocktails amongst the peaceful rooftop garden.
The hotel also offers more elevated finger foods with options like duck stuffed gyoza or cod fritters with chipotle mayonnaise. This rooftop bar is open all year round, transforming into a romantic igloo during the winter months so visitors can still enjoy delicious potables to warm their chilled bones. A word of advice: It’s highly recommended that you reserve a table ahead of time.

360 Bar
Perhaps one of the most popular and well-known rooftop bars in the city, 360 Bar is located on the famous Andrassy Avenue, the heart of retail opulence. Being one of the tallest buildings in the city, you’ll enjoy an incredible bird’s eye view of both Buda and Pest while tantalizing your taste buds with Mediterranean fare, live music and handcrafted signature cocktails.
For a real treat head to 360 Bar to watch the sunset (you won’t be disappointed) or to enjoy a quick midweek pick-me-up to get you through the rest of the workweek (you know you deserve it).
