Budapest Craft Beer Tasting

Join this craft beer tasting, featuring the best Hungarian craft beers paired with a selection of the country’s best artisan cheese and charcuterie. Led by a beer expert, you’ll learn about the recent Hungarian craft beer revolution, the different beer types, the tasting methods and more. It’s the perfect way to take a short break from a day of sightseeing.

Highlights of This Experience

Budapest has a very exciting and growing craft beer scene with an increasing number of micro-breweries, events such as the highly popular craft beer festivals, and there are more and more bars that are dedicated to only have craft beers on tap. There’s everything from pale ale, stout, and wheat beer to a variety of fruit beers and local specialties such as a beer with Tokaji aszú as an ingredient.

This 2-hour tasting is held at a central location in the Palace District of Budapest. Led by a beer expert, you’ll be explained everything you need to know about beer tasting and the brewing process. You’ll also learn about the Hungarian craft beer scene and about some of the main breweries. During the tasting, you’ll have 5 different beers and you will also enjoy a selection of the best local cheese and charcuterie, including mangalica pork sausages, free-range water buffalo salami, smoked duck breast, and grey beef sausage (as well as some other surprises).

Why We Recommend This Tasting

Budapest has a very exciting and growing craft beer scene with more than 300 different craft beers available in over 130 bars and restaurants in Budapest, so it’s not easy to explore the city’s craft beer scene on your own. After all, you can only taste so many beers in one night (or even on one trip).

In addition, the main language of the Hungarian beer scene is still Hungarian, so it can be a challenge to figure out the information about the beers on your own. Joining this guided tasting is a great way to overcome these challenges so that you can explore all the great craft beers that Budapest has to offer.

Wine and craft beer tasting!Tiidgey, London, United Kingdom, November 19, 2017

“We did the wine tasting first which was excellent with the wine expert Gergely. Started off with a sparkling wine followed by three white, three reds and a dessert wine which were all delicious. He gave us the history of the wine regions which we found very informative.
The following night we had craft beer tasting with Carsten. We were given a platter of cheese and various Hungarian meats to have with our beer which complimented the beer well. We had a range of beers which were all delicious.
Would definitely recommend trying both!”

Fantastic!chillymo, Cheltenham, United Kingdom, September 6, 2017

“Our craft beer tasting was so much fun. All the staff were so welcoming and we had a personal table with our own expert who knew everything about beer. The charcuterie and cheeses were excellent. The beer was also great, so good that we shipped some home! Thank you so much!”

“What a excellent night with some beer tasting! Our guide was very informative and told us about the brewery in Budapest. We tasted 5 types of beer and one of them was from a home brewery which was really delicious. The food platter was also good, all kinds of salami's and cheese.
I really recommend this place.”
