Le Petit Bistrot – French Ambiance Behind the Opera House

Wandering off the main streets and avenues of Budapest is always exciting as you can find hidden places that are more local and less crowded.  Le Petit Bistrot is a perfect example of these hidden places with its central location, just a few steps from the Opera House.

It’s a great place for breakfast (only from 10am), light lunch and dinner, but it’s also an excellent choice if you want to enjoy a glass of wine or a pint of craft beer in the evening. As its name suggests, it is a small bistro with only a couple of tables and chairs both inside and outside. For drinks, they pretty much have the usual café selection (coffee, lemonade, soft drinks, etc.) and for food, they have sandwiches, spreads, some delicious crêpes and of course desserts.

Le Petit Bistrot has a very French touch to it, and it’s not just because of its name. When you step inside you feel like you’ve just entered a French boulangerie and when you’re sitting outside with your glass of wine, it’s like being in a small Parisian bistro in the Marais. The place is most charming in the evening with the warm glow of the light bulbs and the French music in the background.
