The latest Projekt Showroom pop-up store, called Budapest Colors, is now open for two full months until Friday, September 30th, 2016. With products by over 80 manufacturers, you’ll find all sorts of “alternative” souvenirs, including books in English, textiles, design objects, soaps and other beauty products, as well as accessories, jewellery and more. Some of these products are limited edition and were created specifically for this store.
The colorful letters of Budapest in the store window by Judit Szécsi along with the beautiful interior decoration, designed by Krisztina Csikós (founder of Projekt Showroom) and built by the Projekt Showroom team, creates a unique atmosphere, which makes this store anything but a typical souvenir shop: When you enter the store, you’ll find yourself in a miniature version of Budapest with a reinterpreted Andrássy Avenue and the local patika (pharmacy) and hírlapárus (newsstand), in which the various sections make up a special curated collection of Budapest-themed products.
In addition, travelers can also get recommendations on tours and other activities in the city. However, the store is also ideal for locals who’re looking for unique, Budapest-inspired items, including a great selection of gourmet products.

It’s almost impossible to explore the whole store during one visit as you can easily spend a good half an hour in each section. But if you only have time for a quick visit, then make sure you check out the Katyvasz gyuláskrém, the Cocoon beauty products, the Kishungarikumhatározó books and the works by Marcus Goldson.
This is great! I need to send clients souvenirs and the typical “keychains and fridge magnets” is so grossly boring. I’ll check this out!
